The project is run by the NGO Centre “Women’s Perspectives” with the support of Open Society Foundation
“Woman for woman” is a platform launched by the NGO “Women’s Perspectives” aimed at helping women in crisis. We publish stories from their perspective since no one can tell her story better than the woman herself.
We are enhancing the voice of women in crisis so that their stories could reach those who are able to help.
To help a particular woman you can buy food for her, donate some money or order a service from her. To do this, leave a message for the project coordinator or use donate button. We do not publish women’s contact information on the website to protect their safety and privacy.
A disaster has happened — the apartment where I live with my children caught fire. The kitchen completely burned down, and the adjacent rooms were also damaged. Restoring everything will require a lot of resources. I take on occasional jobs wherever I can, and I’m raising four young children on my own — aged 3, 7, 10, and 11. Unfortunately, I’m unable to repair the damage by myself. I also have debts for electricity and gas, and I simply can’t cope with this crisis alone.
My husband has beaten me again; he constantly abuses me. He hits me on the head so there are no visible marks; he hits me in front of the children and even hits them. I am very afraid of him. I have no support from my family, and I lost my friends long ago because my husband doesn’t like it when I talk to anyone. I am raising three young children and working with my husband, but he doesn’t give me any money because, according to him, I don’t deserve it. After taking the children, I sought help, but unfortunately, I have no money at all. Please help.
I am a single mother from the frontline city of Kramatorsk. I am raising three small children: my daughter is 1.5 months old, and my sons are 3 and 6 years old. I am currently in a crisis due to the reprocessing of social benefits — I’m left with only 860 UAH per month in child support. Unfortunately, prices here are very high, and I can’t afford even the most basic necessities or utility payments. I would be sincerely grateful for any support.
Mia is currently 16 years old. At the age of 7, her mother abandoned her, leaving her with her alcoholic father. When she was 11, her father died, and the girl was taken in by her aunt, but she was later kicked out. The child asked to return to her mother. Her mother leads a reckless lifestyle, with alcohol and men - all in front of the child. Unable to cope, Mia left home and developed anorexia. Currently, the girl is in a shelter and safe. However, unfortunately, she has absolutely no money to start an independent life.
I am a mother of three children. For years, we lived in a household filled with violence — my husband abused me and the children, and he drank heavily. We didn’t have our own home, so he took out a loan for an apartment, while I worked multiple jobs to provide for the family. After the divorce, I found out that the loan hadn’t been paid. As a result, the bank blocked all of my accounts — both my salary and social support. Recently, I suffered a heart attack and several strokes, and part of my body is now paralyzed. I’m currently undergoing rehabilitation and truly hope to return to a full life so I can work again and support my children.
My husband — a tyrant — along with his father, tied my hands behind my back, smothered me with a pillow, and beat me like a football — all in front of our children. I endured this nightmare for many years. Now, I am staying in a Crisis Shelter for mothers and children with my two little kids. I have no home of my own and no money to survive. Due to the trauma I’ve experienced, I am struggling with health issues. I’m asking for help.
