The project is run by the NGO Centre “Women’s Perspectives” with the support of Open Society Foundation
“Woman for woman” is a platform launched by the NGO “Women’s Perspectives” aimed at helping women in crisis. We publish stories from their perspective since no one can tell her story better than the woman herself.
We are enhancing the voice of women in crisis so that their stories could reach those who are able to help.
To help a particular woman you can buy food for her, donate some money or order a service from her. To do this, leave a message for the project coordinator or use donate button. We do not publish women’s contact information on the website to protect their safety and privacy.
I am a single mother of a 4-year-old son and currently 36 weeks pregnant. I grew up in an orphanage and have always lived in rented apartments. I managed to restore my relationship with my mother, and now we survive thanks to her pension. Unfortunately, my mother is already elderly and has health problems. The biological father of my unborn child went abroad for work and stopped keeping in touch, while the father of my older son never recognized him. Very soon I will have to give birth, but we are left without money.
I am 19 years old and live in Kharkiv with my brothers, aged 14 and 16. We are orphans — our mother passed away in 2022 from cancer. Only last month was I able to obtain official guardianship over my brothers and secure benefits due to the loss of our mother. Until then, I had been working and supporting us on my own since I was 17. We live in a rented apartment, as our home in the city of Vasylivka, Zaporizhzhia region, is under occupation.I am asking for help.
My son served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine and went missing in action. I received the notification on December 12, 2024, and since then, there has been no news about him. I am 70 years old and live in the Odesa region. I was born in the Lviv region, but after marriage, I received a russian passport. I never thought about my documents, as I was fully supported by my son. After his disappearance, I was left without any means of subsistence, as I have no benefits or the possibility to apply for them.
I am a single mother from the Lyman district of Donetsk region. My native village is under occupation, and my home has been destroyed. I currently live in Dnipro with my two young children: a one-and-a-half-year-old son and a seven-year-old daughter. Rent and utility bills take up almost all of my funds. I am also experiencing a significant deterioration in my health that requires examinations and treatment, so I am asking for help.
I am a heroine mother of 10 children. I am divorced from my husband, he beat me all my life, knocked out all my teeth, constantly raped me. I lived every day as if it were my last, because I did not know how he would beat me or the children. Thanks to my eldest daughter, who filed for divorce, I am alive. But now there is another trouble, in January, the youngest 14-year-old daughter was diagnosed with dextrocardia (heart on the right side). Because of this, the child needs constant treatment.
After the birth of our children, my common-law husband began to abuse me. He beat me severely, took away my money, and forced me to earn money with my body. When I refused, he beat me even harder. The violence lasted for 13 years. I managed to escape that nightmare, but the trauma left me with serious health issues. Now I’m raising a child with a disability. Due to my deteriorating health, I can no longer afford to pay rent or get the necessary medical treatment.
