Oksana,

33

I am a single mother of three minor children, aged 14, 12, and 7. My husband repeatedly physically abused me, but I was eventually able to leave him. We currently live in a rented apartment in Dnipro. I work, but my income is not enough to cover even a part of our expenses. Rent is very expensive, as are all our other basic needs. I have gone into debt because there is often barely any food at home, and I also needed to prepare my children for the new school year. I am asking for help so that I can get our family through this difficult period.

I have cancer — a malignant tumor located on the greater curvature of my stomach. I have undergone aggressive treatment and surgery, but unfortunately, the results have not been entirely positive, and I now require further treatment. The medications prescribed to me are not available at local oncology hospitals, so I have to purchase them myself. I am a single pensioner with a monthly pension of 4,000 UAH. I simply cannot afford such significant expenses, so I am asking for help.

On July 28, I was caught in an enemy drone strike together with my 3-year-old son. Fortunately, my child suffered only minor injuries, but I sustained a severe injury to my right leg — a gunshot comminuted fracture. I have been in the hospital for the second month now. I currently live with my two children in the city of Marhanets. We are internally displaced persons (IDPs) from the Melitopol district of Zaporizhzhia region. Unfortunately, my treatment and rehabilitation will take a long time, while my only source of income is IDP assistance. I am asking for your support.

Natalia,

I was born and raised in a family where my father abused and beat my mother. After her death, I struggled to recover for a long time, and her loss was devastating for me. Later, I married a man who turned out to be a despot and a tyrant. He beat me and abused me in every possible way. During our life together, I lost my one-and-a-half-year-old daughter. All of these events had a profound impact on me, and I was diagnosed with a schizophrenic disorder and its consequences. During our divorce, my husband was also awarded the property we had acquired together, and for the past seven years I have effectively been without a home of my own, living in shelters and places for people experiencing homelessness. At the moment, I am staying in a temporary shelter once again. I need financial support to pay for my medication and food.

Liza,

After the last time my husband beat me, I suffered a heart attack, after which he left me. It is very painful for me to think about everything I have been through and to remember all the violence I experienced. Unfortunately, I also experienced abuse from my father during my childhood. For the past year and a half, I have been undergoing rehabilitation following my illness, and I still feel barely alive. I have now moved to another city and am staying in a shelter. I want to finally live without constant fear, abuse, and beatings. I am looking for a job, but at the moment I have no money at all. I am not an internally displaced person. I am asking for financial support.

I was thrown by a blast wave during the shelling of our city. As a result of my injuries, I have been assigned a Group III disability status. I have a spinal injury and neuropathic pain in my limbs. Unfortunately, my husband was also injured. He suffered a severe blow to the head, had a stroke, has completely lost hearing in one ear, and has a stent placed in his carotid artery. Our home was completely destroyed. We currently live in the Dnipropetrovsk region and rent an apartment. We survive on two pensions and IDP assistance, but we are desperately short of money for medications, hygiene products, and even basic food.
