I live in Kherson. I survived the entire occupation with my son and husband in my hometown. We both lost our jobs but stayed at home. On May 3, 2023, there was a massive shelling of Kherson. The rocket hit the supermarket. My husband was wounded by shrapnel and died.
I am from Kharkiv. My husband was killed by Russian soldiers in the first days of the war. My husband was a volunteer. He and five other people were found by police in a manhole in April 2023. All six people killed were blindfolded and handcuffed. I stayed with my 11-year-old son.
I am from Berdyansk. All my life I worked in a fishing shop, carried boxes of fish. I lost my health there. And when the war started, I almost went blind. I left the occupated city and go to Kyiv, had eye surgery for borrowed money. I have nothing to repay the debt.
I am from Melitopol, Zaporizhzhia region. My city is occupied, strangers have settled in my apartment. I live in Lviv in a shelter for displaced women. I have been on hemodialysis for 6 years. And now I have a suspicion of oncology. I need an MRI, it's 6 thousand UAH, I don't have the money for it.
I am from Mariupol. I lived there with my husband and two daughters. Now our city is occupied, our apartment is destroyed. My husband died at the front at the end of March 2023. I'm still gathering the necessary documents to receive a death benefit. We are immigrants, it is much more difficult for us.
I am a mother of many children from the Donetsk region. I have 5 sons and 2 daughters. We lived almost on the dividing line. In April 2022, my two sons went to take water and did not return. One died on the spot from shelling. Another is missing. We evacuated. Very soon, our village was bombarded with phosphorus bombs and wiped off the face of the earth.
