I am a mother of six children, four of whom are still minors (17, 7, 5, and 4 years old). After the birth of our third child together, physical, emotional, and financial abuse began from my civil partner. He took my money, even the children’s benefits, and did not allow me to study or work. He controlled me and the children, and we practically lived in complete isolation. Three months ago, he threw me out of the house with nothing. I was not even allowed to see or communicate with the children, but later I managed to take them back. My former partner is not officially registered as the father of the children because he did not want to be, so I have the status of a single mother. Now we live in a social apartment for survivors of domestic violence, but our stay there is coming to an end. We urgently need to find rental housing. I cannot take a full-time job because I have no one to leave the children with. We live on a survivor’s pension of 2,500 UAH (my first husband, the father of my older children, passed away), 4,200 UAH in benefits for a large family, and my occasional side jobs. We need financial help for rent, basic spring and summer clothing for the children, and food.
