I live in Chernihiv. This is my hometown. I have two sons: 18 years old and 7 years old. The younger son has a disability. He has no palate and is developmentally delayed. The husband, the father of the children, died a year ago. Before the war, I worked as a confectioner in a bakery. I baked cakes and croissants. The death of the husband brought great stress. There was a rupture of the retina of the left eye. I had an operation. The war caught us in Chernihiv.

The city was under siege. We were fired upon. We have a humanitarian crisis. There was almost no food. Eggs cost UAH 100 (3,5 dollars) for 10 pieces. We sat in the basement for more than a month. I started to lose my sight.

Now I can hardly see, so I can't work. We live on two disability pensions. At the local hospital they can do the operation for free. But I have to pay for the artificial eye lens. One artificial lens costs UAH 18,000 (near 500 dollars). Of course, I don't have that kind of money.
