A fire broke out in the building where I live, and the roof above my apartment was completely destroyed. Everything was flooded with water: the ceiling, walls, furniture, clothes, and the electrical system was damaged. My 12-year-old daughter and I live in the Chernihiv region. It is a barrack-type apartment. A neighbor left a heater on and went to the city — that’s what caused the fire. I have a disability, I am insulin-dependent, and I have complications affecting my kidneys and legs. I work as a Ukrainian language teacher, but now I am in a very difficult situation. The cost of repairing the roof is extremely high, and replacing the electrical wiring is also a huge expense. I am in despair.
